Beach B-Box

2025 Project

Product Design

Pivotal Chair

Crafted from six interlocking panels, this design allows quick assembly and can switch easily between a comfortable chair and a functional table. When not in use, the panels detach and stack flat, making it compact and easy to carry.

What Are We Solving
  • Bulky & hard-to-carry beach furniture
  • Single-purpose
  • Space efficiency

Solution
  • Six-panel modular system: breaks down into flat, lightweight pieces
  • Multifunctionality: reassembles from a chair to a table
  • Puzzle-like assembly: setup and breakdown intuitive and tool-free
  • Easy storage: when not in use, the panels fold neatly

Blanket Stakes

Blanket Stakes provide a portable, stable, and elegant way to anchor fabrics into the sand with tapered spikes designed specifically for beach conditions.

What Are We Solving
  • Lightweight items are often blown up by the sea breeze
  • Traditional fixing tools are not suitable for the beach
  • The problem of portability
  • Experience and aesthetics (using existing solutions like stones)

Solution
  • Tapered spike design: ensures stability, preventing the wind from lifting lightweight items
  • Able to interlock in sets of four: easy to pack & space-saving
  • Secure: the blanket stays flat, neat, and comfortable - creating a cleaner and more enjoyable beach experience (no longer need to use shoes, bottles, or bags to hold down corners)

CoconutCup

Coconut cup is a beach cup with a cone-shaped base that anchors firmly in the sand, keeping your drink upright, stable, and sand-free all day.

What Are We Solving
  • Regular cups/mugs tip over on soft, uneven sand creating spills, lost drinks, and a sticky mess
  • Wind blows sand onto the flat lid; the drinking edge gets dirty and people end up sipping grit
  • Hard to set down anywhere clean; towels and chairs aren’t stable surfaces

Solution
  • Cone base: a tapered base goes into the sand so the cup stays upright
  • Rounded top: a domed rim/lid sheds sand so grains can’t settle on the drinking edge
  • Straw port: a small opening for a straw means less sand exposure
