Evidence

2023 - 2024 Project

Graphic Design, UI/UX Design

Where light shines it tends to draw stronger attention, while the shadow in contrast is often ignored. But shadows are important evidence that things exist and reflect a lot of information. The project uses shadows as the theme, combining magazine design and APP design to convey information and interact with users, helping them to understand and focus on the messages and issues behind the shadows. In the magazine design, the messages and meanings of shadows in different fields are collected, while the APP is designed as a program for people to record their inner shadows, which are hidden feelings.

Motivation

Walking down the street, I discovered the unique beauty of overlapping and combining shadows that might be overlooked in everyday life. Under the sunlight, its varied shapes add a lot of interest to the city's gray, stagnant ground. I realized shadows serve as visible traces of human activities and city construction, offering tangible evidence. Shadows are proof of the existence of all sorts of different things, showing the whole city in another way, including activities and environment. So I wondered if the shadow could be used as a medium to convey messages with corresponding meanings and emotions in different areas.
